COVID-19 update
Dear Friends, As concern about COVID-19 continues, we want to take a minute to update you on what we're doing here at Dover Shores Pet Care.
- Rest assured we are able to continue to provide all services.
- We have ramped-up our already standard of care sanitary procedures.
- All surgery, dentistry, treatments and out-patient procedures are proceeding as scheduled.
- We have modified all of our procedures to comply with CDC guidelines.
Because we are a small independent provider of veterinary service with a full-time staff of less than ten, we can easily comply with all the safety guidelines now recommended! |
Rest assured that if your beloved pet becomes ill or is injured, WE ARE HERE TO HELP.
WHAT WE ARE DOING:
- ALL OF OUR PROCEDURES ARE MODIFIED TO COMPLY WITH CDC AND SHELTER-IN-PLACE GUIDELINES.
- OUR STANDARD OF CARE SANITARY PROCEDURES HAVE BEEN RAMPED-UP.
- ALL NECESSARY SURGERY, DENTISTRY, TREATMENTS AND OUT-PATIENT PROCEDURES ARE PROCEEDING AS SCHEDULED.
- CURBSIDE CONCIERGE SERVICE FOR PICKUP, DELIVERY, AND OUT-PATIENTS IS NOW THE STANDARD OF CARE.
WHAT WE ARE DOING HERE AT DOVER SHORES VETERINARY HOSPITAL:
- All surgery, dentistry, treatments and out-patient procedures are proceeding as scheduled.
- All of our procedures are modified to comply with CDC guidelines.
- Our standard of care sanitary procedures have been ramped-up.
- Curbside "Concierge" drive-up service for out-patients, drop-offs and pickup is now the standard of care.
- Team members who are ill are staying home.
- We are evaluating the situation as it evolves on a daily basis and will continue to follow the directions of local officials. We will update you with any changes.
- Sanitizing the hospital and all surface areas frequently, and between each patient and client.
- Hand sanitizer is in constant use in the office.
- Sorry - Restrooms are closed under the current order (rev 3-18-20)
- When Clients eventualy return to in office, all will require masks and temperatue testng.
- Monitoring the CDC and government authorities for healthcare updates.
- Re-training our team on isolation, containment, cleaning and disinfection
- Providing quality healthcare for your pet, so at least you can be worry-free about your beloved pet's health.
WHAT CAN YOU DO FOR YOUR PETS?
- Keep them healthy!
- Preventative Care Assessments - Scheduled Regularly
- Vaccinations - kept current and consistent with our guidelines
- Especially bordetella vaccinations and or flu vaccinations
- Health Screening and or testing as appropriate for each individual patient.
- Be vigilant on walks.
- Avoid contact with unknown pets and wildlife
- Choose upscale “clean areas” to exercise your pets.
- .
- Clean litter boxes and sod boxes regularly.
- Check your disaster (e.g. earthquake, hurricane, tornado, fire evacuation, etc) preparation kits and supplies and update them as needed.
- MEDICATION
- Keep a one month supply on hand.
- FOOD AND SUPPLIES
- Keep a one month supply on hand.
- DO not postpone needed and/or recommended services or procedures.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
- Wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds; if soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer;
- Cough and sneeze into your elbow;
- Stay home if you are sick.
- Maintain a 6 foot distance from other (especially unknown) persons.
- Get your flu shot to protect against influenza (a much more common and also potentially deadly virus.).
- Keeping yourself healthy is a proven method of reducing the risk of any future infections. - The same is true for your pet.
- If you have recently returned from a country with ongoing COVID-19 infections, follow public health guidance and monitor your health. Call your healthcare providers and inform them about your travel history if you need care.
